Tree Climbers

Isaac and Julia wanted me to take pictures of them climbing this little tiny tree.... To them it was a great accomplishment... they were excited! But, I thought the tree might just uproot and fall over....watching the kids brings back sweet childhood memories...

When I was just a little bigger than them we found a tree about twice this size and we called it the boomerang tree. We use to climb to the top and the tree would fold in half and we would bounce back down to the ground and with a swift kick of our feet it would launch us back the other direction and we could bounce on it all day... We loved this tree... Well, as fate would have it one day we were bouncing our little hearts out and I jumped just as hard as my legs would go expecting to bounce higher and farther than ever and all at once the poor little tree just uprooted from the ground and fell over leaving a big hole in the ground beside the tree and me laying face down in the dirt trying to figure out what exactly just happened... That was the end of the little boomerang tree! It was a sad, sad summer day! But, for Isaac and Julia they have a fresh new little tree and lots of adventures ahead of them.
