Holiday Roll-Out Cookies

Today while the rest of the world was out shopping we decided to hang low and make some wonderful roll out cookies. This recipe was really easy. You don't have to refrigerate it or anything just mix and go... The kids love making things in the kitchen so they gather around and take turns adding ingredients. They did a great job cutting out cookies and frosting on their own. I thought I would end up doing most of them by myself but, they are getting really good. I guess play dough has been good practice for them.

Here is the recipe if you are interested in it...

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups flour

Mix the butter and sugar together. Then add the egg and vanilla and then the baking powder and flour. Add the flour one cup at a time... Roll out the dough on a floured surface and have fun. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-12 minutes depending on how think the dough is...
