We are under attack of the Killer Lady Beetles "ladybugs" whatever you want to call them. Yesterday we had hundreds of them in the house.... Today we managed to keep a lot of them outside. They were everywhere yesterday....For all those of you who believe you should not kill lady bugs they are good for the environment, you better come and get them because it is WAR!! Lady Bugs will die!!! Yesterday while we ate dinner they were dropping of the ceiling down into our food. They were flying down landing on the baby and in her bed, dead carcases all over the floor, windows, couch. Our home is infested with these nasty pest. If anybody has any ideas of how to get rid of these little critters please let me know... Every time the weather gets cold they come out no where and decide to nest in our house for the winter. They are so gross.... Do you know why they are called lady bugs. When they get scared or you tick them off they secret a yellow foul smelling liquid to try to protect themselves. I read online today that this stinky liquid is actually their blood. So, not only are they all over my house but, they are secreting blood in my house. That is so gross!! I saw some ultraviolet/black light lady bug traps/houses today... Has anybody used them? Do they work?? I hate to use a bunch of chemicals in the house to kill them. I am just not big into chemicals if I can find something else that will work. Let me know if anybody has any ideas.

Wow! I had no idea they were so foul. They always look so pretty and innocent. I'm sorry. I hope you get rid of them soon.
YUCK! I bet there is something that you can put out BEFORE the bugs come out each year?? Until then, give the kids each a shop vac and let them at it, it could be a game... :) Good luck!
I LOVED Isaac's DVD player. He must be very creative!
Concerning the Asian lady beetles, yeah, they've become a bother for lots of folks. They were mistakenly introduced to the US to take care of some problem, and then became a big problem themselves because - like so many other things we're not careful about - they have no natural predators here. Have you tried using the vacuum cleaner to get rid of those in the house? They won't really nest in the house and produce any new ones. they just want in from the cold. If you know where they're coming in, try caulking and sealing everything tightly. If I can find other info, I'll let you know. Take care! Nancy
That happens at Dan's parents house all the time. We visited once and they were so bad we came home with ladybugs in our luggage!
