Finally a Post!

Why post? I am already for Christmas 2009 so why change a good thing right....okay, okay here it is a NEW post I can hardly believe I am finally putting something on my blog after 3 months....Wow! I guess it sure has been awhile and I have to say if it wasn't for Katie's encouragement I probably wouldn't have anything on here....

This year is screaming by quickly.... School is very taxing on me this semester. I didn't think it could be so hard going to school and raising a family. I started off this semester a little behind and have made a couple of trips to Florida for a bridal shower and a wedding for one of my best friends and I just can't seem to get ahead or at least caught up...I have to say while school is a great brain exercises I don't think my brain can handle anymore right now, my butt on the other hand is a different story.... Needs LOTS! lol!!

We are all doing well... We have all had our turns of the cold and flu. Seems like somebody is always sick with something. Isaac came down with a fever last night and threw up this morning but, seems to be feeling better now. Aside from all this...

Isaac is doing great in school. He is in the second grade this year and is loving learning new things in school but, his favorite thing right now is LEGO's! He spends most of his free time building with the NXT legos. If you don't know what that is these legos have sensors and motors and brain/computer that hooks up to the computer. So, Isaac likes to build cars, robots, scorpions and all kinds of stuff then programs them and builds for hours on end and then when it's finish he plays with it for about 15 minutes and then tears it apart and builds another one... For him the fun is in building them. He is a thinker and a tinkerer so this is right up his alley. Isaac has lost a couple more teeth and is looking more like a little man every day.

Julia is in Kindergarten this year. She just celebrated her 6th birthday. She loves school and spends most of her time at home being a "teacher" and likes to play school and teach her sisters all the new things she is learning in school. She is learning to read and is doing really well. She has a couple of favorite books that she likes; Bob, Dick and Jane and Dr. Seuss. She is very crafty and likes to make stuff. She loves to listen to music and sing. She finally got her own CD player in her bedroom.

Laura turned 4 in October and is in preschool... She is writing almost all her letters now and recognizes them all and knows their sounds. She loves school and playing school. She is very social and enjoys the social aspect of school more then anything. She loves the boys in her class because they are "so handsome to look at"... the stuff she says scares me sometimes. Ahh, I don't know what I am going to do with 3 girls when they hit their teenage years. She loves to listen to songs, sing and dance around the house. She wants to be a ballerina. But, her absolute favorite thing to do it talk. She admits that she likes to talk just to hear herself which isn't always so popular among the siblings while we are riding in the car. LOL!

Kaley is a year and a half old now. She is walking, running and prancing around. She is communicating much better and is saying a lot of two-word phrases like "want this, help me, get up, get out" and others. She is very spoiled as she is a little princess and has 5 servants here to wait on her hand and foot. She is a strong willed child and knows what she wants. She loves to run around the house and play chase with the big kids and spin around until she falls over. She loves baby dolls, monkeys, balls and coming hair. Her favorite shows are "Wow, Wow Wuzby", "Peep" and "Baby Einstein". She loves Italian food and Chinese food like her mommy. She loves being outside and playing with her kitty cat. But, her favorite thing to do is sit on the counter and help mommy in the kitchen.

Dan is working in Franklin this year teaching at the high school and early college program. He is also working on his masters in Entrepreneurship. He will be finished in May! So, we have both been going to school full time and tag teaming our work at home and playing with the kids and chores and all. We are both counting down until the end of the semester and will be relieved when summer is here. Dan and I did enjoy our first weekend get-away in a long time, two weeks ago. Our last trip to Florida for Jen's wedding we left the kids in North Carolina with their Grandma and drove down by ourselves. We hardly knew what to do with ourselves with no kids in tow. The get-a-way was so nice and exactly what we needed. We were able to see a lot of good friends at the wedding and have a little time for ourselves too!

Our life has been really busy lately and the blog has kind of been on the bottom of my list of priorities but, I am trying to do better. So, this is pretty much an update of our life the last few months..... I will post some pictures soon and a yummy new recipe I found this week so stay tuned.
