This semester at school has actually been a lot of fun. Imagine fun at school? I am taking 4 really fun art courses and then an Art History Class. I am taking courses in Painting, Printmaking, Figure Drawing and 3D Design. It is a lot of fun but, now I spend my late evenings drawing and painting. Here are my first 3 oil paintings. I never have really painted before so I get really excited when the image starts to take form and begins to look similar to the still life that I was ainting from. This was a plastic horse that we had to paint....we had to use only raw umber and white which is the reason for it's colorings.

My second oil painting we had to get some objects that were personal from home to create a still life and then paint them. So, I used my two little bears. One I got when Julia was born with the pink sweater and one when Laura was born with the green dress. My favorite tea pot and then a hand blown glass rose.

This last one was basically the same assignment but, I wanted to do something fun with the brush strokes so it is like a Picasso version of Isaac's antique iron train. Colorful and fun!

I am not very good at drawing so the fact that these resemble the original items really surprises me at all...

Aimee!!! These are AMAZING!!! Seriously, I am so impressed. Never say again that you cannot paint or draw, because you can! Looks like you are having so much fun with the class. You're inspiring me. :)
