We decided to make a gingerbread house this weekend. I always forget it needs to sit awhile to harden and we jump right in frosting and decorating it and then all at once it all falls down. Maybe next year I will think to put it together one day and then decorate it the next. We had to prop it up with tomato sauce cans while we finished it and let it harden over night and then it was fine.... I never made gingerbread houses when I was little so I don't know any of the little secrets. We just make it up as we go... the story of my life right?? The kids are dying to eat it but, I told them they had to wait until Christmas but, I think I am going to let them make a little one out of graham crackers this weekend so they can have one to eat now...

Oh, that's too cute!
Adorable.
One secret, that I learned from my mother who has made and sold gingerbread houses for charity for the last 15 years is to make sure that you lay your house out end to end on the table and decorate it BEFORE gluing it all together. :-)
Thanks for the great idea Shannon! We will definitely give it a try.
RECIPE? How did you make it? LOVE IT!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!
